The price of the items sold by NPCs includes taxes. Some part of the taxes is obtained by those clans which own castles. The taxes are different depending on the township.

Types of taxes
An item price is calculated with taxes in mind; so the price of the same item can be different.
Territory tax
Territory tax is applied to all NPC located within the territory. Territory tax doesn't depend on the castle tax. The lowest territory tax is in the Town of Giran: 10%.
Sales Tax
When you sell items to NPCs, the price is calculated as follows:

Calculating the price
The prices of items sold by NPCs is calculated as follows:
